Gun Control
Gun control is on discussion again after recent school shootings that resulted in 17 kids dying.
On my social media, I am trying to read everyone’s posts about the recent massacre and the causes, solutions…. forget the fact that this problem is very unique to our country, and we can easily purchase guns. The bigger problem is the fact that our kids are being robbed of a worthy education, by the non-sense social media, countless hours of screen time that is clearly a big contributor to today’s depression and anxiety epidemic. The bullying without repercussions. Parents working multiple jobs and passing their kids to their grandparents for parenting. The materialistic mentality which is never quenched.
Let’s forget about arming schools with armed veterans, let’s instead arm them with pencils and school materials that the government keeps on cutting. Make them excited about school and education. Pay less attention to what Tom Brady is doing, and sit down and have a conversation with your child. Take their hand and go for a hike. Teach them something. Hug them. Make them feel worthy, not just empty boosting of their ego.
This issue is multi-factorial. Guns are part of the issue. But let’s not take the easy road and blame it entirely on guns to avoid ownership of our own mistakes and failures in this society.
Yes something needs to be done with gun control, such as not allowing assault rifle sales. Police and FBI have also need to do a better job on researching potential leads on future attackers. But the root problem still lies in our society and how we bring up our kids.
